SIZE CHARTS

Size Charts show finished garment measurements, not body measurements. Your garment needs to be at an absolute minimum 2” wider at the bust and hips than your own body measurements — an amount called wearing ease. The difference between body circumference and garment circumference over and above wearing ease is design ease. Our primary styles have different amounts of design ease.

The dolman-sleeve tops and tunics have about 4” of design ease at the bust and hips. The dolman-sleeve dresses have about 4” of design ease at the bust and about 2” at the hips (the A-line cut is narrower). The cowl-neck tunics and dresses are a closer fit and have only a very slight A-line cut: they have less than 2” design ease at the bust and at the hips.

In all of these garments, your starting point is likely a size 1 if you wear a 2 or 4 in most commercial clothing, a size 2 if you wear a size 6 or 8, a size 3 if you wear a size 10 or 12, a size 4 if you wear a size 14 or 16, and a size 5 if you wear a size 18 or 20. The best fit for you in jackets is as much a matter of personal taste as anything, but as a general guideline think about an OS- if you wear a size 1 or 2 in our dolman-sleeve garments, an OS if you wear a size 2-4, and an OS+ if you wear a size 4 or 5.

Finished garment measurements are (close) approximations. There may be a small +/- variation, as is to be expected with any hand-crafted piece of clothing. Additionally, although all fabrics are wovens there is some difference among them in the amount of give they have. Linen has the most give; tencel and silk dupioni have the least.
